(22 Jul 13) to the Zoo!

Well, Singapore Zoo turned 40 years old in July and all Singaporeans could get discounted tickets to the Zoo in July. Hence we made use of this opportunity to check it out!

I was filled with dismay when I saw the sign that the water play area was not open. I meant, it happened to us at the Bird Park and now it happened again at the zoo? What a whammy! Well, you read the map and knew there was a water play. I explained to you and comforted you that we could always come again.

Tong loved marine creatures...

Ah, funny hippos snoozing away...

You clamoured for a photo with the kangaroo

Checking out the abandoned jeep...

The most fun part of the zoo seemed to be feeding these noisy goats...you were apprehensive at first but got over the fear and were soon running around finding leaves for it. Ha, I thought we could visit a petting farm at LIm CHu Kang next time...

Tong wanted a piece of action too!

Grateful to Ah Gong for bringing us there and paying for the tickets and food...

Taking a group photo was an art with the two active frisky babies...

Checking out the seats at the amphitheatre...we did not manage to catch any shows that day...

Amazing, pelicans resting on the branches...they were so still they looked like statues...

Could not believe it...you wished to check out the water area even though you knew it was closed. lo and behold, we went and it was open! Unable to contain your excitement, you squealed and were soon splashing around...

There was a variety of water sprouts...it was way bigger and more fun than our lot 1 water playground...

Came with a playground structure too, you and tong did not even play on that, preferring to wallow in the shallow waters...

Tong made up this game of finding leaves and dropping them into the water and collecting them again...joy could be so simple...

Clutching on to the leaves tightly like the sable-toothed squirrel in Ice Age movie...

The furthest Tong did with the playground was to check out the stairs...

You found friends! YOu loved companionship...I wondered why you resisted school so much when you obviously loved having company...

Tong was wandering faraway from us, going to the other side of the water area...

Sunbathing in the scorching sun...

Saying "yay" exuberantly...you were having a whale of a time...

Laugh, I wondered what you were checking out...
There was this awesome giant tipping bucket at the top of the structure. It would make a clinking sound when it was about to tip and all the children would rush to lie down in the Splash zone. I thought it was hilarious. Both of you did not dare to go, I thought I would capture the process...

Then I thought how inane it was of me to use photos, might as well take a video. ha...erm...I took it the wrong side up...ha..

It was time to go home...You could not bear to leave again...Tong was snoozing once we got onto the tram ride...xun you fell asleep in the car too...I thought I could catch a breather and siesta at home but you two were up and about once we reached home. Alas...it had certainly been a great day!
