What a glorious day. Everyone woke up chirpy and cheery, ya even the usually whiny Tong (even our beloved cleaning auntie commented how high-spirited Tong was), and off we scoot to the Orange Building School! Now that Tong had settled comfortably into having one nap a day, it was way easier to plan for our excursions. After school, we went to Plaza's library, had lunch, played at the plaza's playground and ambled home....home sweet home. It was always so refreshing and enlivening to come back to our darling house!
Talking of the word darling, we watched "despicable me 2" on Sunday! I had always thought "minion" meant someone who was a servile follower, but I discovered it could mean one who was highly esteemed or favoured; a darling! BOY, I am glad I had you two little MINIONS at home, in both senses, my toady followers who had to do my bidding and my precious favourites.
It was Tong's first movie. I remembered Xun's first movie was around 1+ yrs old in USA and the show was "Juliet and Gnomeno". Ha..."Despicable me 2" was hilarious and gripping. Tong's eyes were glued to the screen for the entire show, screaming at the top of his lungs when the child in the movie shouted when the purple minion attacked...glad we had a smashing time!
Link of the minions singing the banana song. You and tong went "baa baa baa" after listening to it.
Woah, we napped for 2 magnificent hours! You wanted to go to the fire truck playground to look for Maxine jie jie, so we went!
I really liked this playground too. It was spacious, there was so much to roam and explore!
A pity Maxine jie jie was not here today. The two of you made up this funny game: when one touched the blue structure, you would be frozen. When one touched the red structure below, you would be scorched!
We could pretend to be firemen and drive the firetruck...
or just laze on the gigantic wheel and watch the world go by...
Clamber up the playground and dash across the bridge...
and take the spirally slide down...
Tong had started going down the slide the normal way! What a big milestone...
Your other friend, Jiayi, came and the two of you scooted off playing with each other while her mama and I chatted. Heh, I was telling her how fast children grew up and how you would rather want to be with your friends and not be with me very soon... we loved to come to this playground coz we would taobao rice with sliced fish, tofu (yours and tong's fav) and a meat and we would eat as you played...and by the time we were done, it was time to go home and bathe and wait for papa to come home!
There was a pair of twins and the mama was impressed with you and asked for the school you attended. heh...many people asked about your school for you spoke and behaved very well for your age. Well, I always replied we just played a lot at home, I made a conscious choice not to be sucked into the maelstrom of never ending enrichment classes...I desired for you and tong tong to just have a FUN and enjoyable childhood..you know...after teaching all those bright and privileged children at TLL, mama believed firmly that it was more important to have good characters and values rather than ace in exams. In fact, most of those friends who were earning uber lots of money now were not the smart ones in school...haha...well, mama got a first class in geography and was now a part time Stay at home mum! not exactly what our society would deem as an honourable profession...nah, it was not considered even a profession, the older generation frowned upon SAHMs, thinking it was such a waste of our degrees and talents..
I begged to differ...I knew God called me to be a mum, He equipped me with the wisdom and necessary skills, He has plans to prosper us and a bright destiny for us...
I thank God for blessing each and every day we had together...AMEN.
