OK, standby for a post with little/no photos haha.
so saturdays are daddy's day with the kids, and mummy's rest day. daddy has been a member of the Sembawang Country Club since.. 2008? but yeah, we haven't really been utilising the membership all that much. daddy was at the Temasek Club's AGM, and when they unveiled their new club premises, it struck me that maybe we really should be using the club memberships more often. the new place promises to be pretty exciting, with swimming pools, indoor/outdoor playgrounds and all. hmm. oh well, that would only be ready in 2015 at the earliest.
so this saturday daddy decided to bring xun and tong to Sembawang Country Club. it's not too far from our house, and i think the anticipation of visiting a new playground was quite exciting for the kids haha. xun was talking non-stop during the journey, and she was really happy when we finally got there. the place has been recently renovated, so the first impressions were pretty good. we weren't too familiar with the place so we had to ask around, but we soon found the indoor playground! nothing super awesome, but it was decent. aircon, padded throughout, with a slide structure in the middle, and other small toys by the side. there was even a box of books to read, and some lounge chairs for the adults to chill. there was a TV too, so it was a pretty cosy place. but daddy decided to bring xun and tong to the swimming pool first, since they were still in their PJs haha.
the swimming pool was neat. certainly bigger than the "pond" we have in the Linear. there was a dolphin printed on the floor of the wading pool heh, and the height is very comfortable for xun, and even for tong, so i was quite ok handling both of them. xun was very cautious, and she preferred to stick to the "safe" side, where there was a gradual slope down haha. there wasn't anything much to do, since we didn't bring our toys, but the kids still enjoyed themselves just soaking in the water. we pretended to open cafes, to have horse rides (with daddy being the horse!), and we just floated in the water, observing our surroundings. Xun got tong excited when she spotted some birds, and we even spotted some monkeys climbing in the distance! soon, the sun came out and princessy xun said that it was too hot, and we should go to the indoor playground haha.
cleaned everyone up, changed, and we headed to the indoor playground. spent some time in there, cos tong was watching the cartoon programme on okto heh. soon i got hungry, and decided to bring everyone out to the cafe.
the food was pretty good! we chose the table near the golfing greens (at the famous hole 18!), and we certainly enjoyed our hokkien prawn mee, french fries, and fried eggs! tong, as usual, was a real charmer, and had the serving aunties cooing at his every move haha. but alas, the activities exerted its toil on him. plus he had woken up too early. he was dozing off at the table lor! so funny. thankfully we had almost finished our meal, so had to yank him back to the car. the 2 then proceeded to sleep all the way to ah ma's house. perfect timing.
all in, the trip to sembawang was quite nice, think we will go back there more regularly. met some friends too. and i found out that they have other facilities that we can enjoy, like the KTV lounge! perhaps we should try it before er yi delivers baby ryan?
oh well, xun is calling, better go sleep with her now. maybe mama will blog about the wedding dinner that nite =)
