it was a most memorable week, in the negative sense. Mama caught a really bad sore throat and was down with flu. Then xun xun got stomach flu and was pooping and vomiting all over the place. Mama was full of fatigue having to change the bedsheet, clean you up after each poop, wipe up the vomit, change you into new clothes, do laundry twice...all of these in a single day...
Well, you were really ill, so ill that you asked to see the doctor. As you were feeling weak, I brought the pram along. Both of you fought to sit in it, so the ill-tempered me thrust both of you into the pram and snapped that you got to share, no more arguments. Hence, this photo of you sulking away and tong...erm...looking rather...subdued...
Ha, you vomited immediately after taking the vomit medicine and the doctor advised to put the suppository. It was so fast and effective, we should have opted for it right at the beginning. We slept a lot that day, all 3 of us, gloomy and sullen...good thing the rest of the family did not catch the stomach flu virus, tong got a little flu later on but recovered speedily...you were yakking and devouring snacks a few days later...it was all back to normal again : )
I told papa I needed to blog about this so you would know taking care of you two was not a bed of roses...yeh, indeed, sometimes you made me so mad that I wished to go back to full time work. Ha...but deep down from my heart, I wanted to tell you that nothing beat seeing your faces light up at the mention of going gai gai...and snuggling with you on the sofa, on the journeys to some fun place, in bed...nothing could ever be so precious as to be with you as you were growing up...
ok, 19 month-old tong still woke up a few times in the night to nurse. He was definitely sleeping better, I prayed for better nights to come, someday he would sleep so soundly like a log like you, jie jie.
mama loved you to bits.
