(24 Dec Tues) To RWS Sea Aquarium

mama had always wanted to visit the sea aquarium. Eh...distance was a deterrent, we had to go all the way to Sentosa...price was another too, it was rather costly. Imagine my exuberance when papa said that his unit was having a family day kinda event at the aquarium and all expenses fully paid for! Including $10 macdonalds vouchers for all of us, that was a grand $40! ha.

It started with a history of the sailing industry...many exhibits, all really tastefully done up...

I really adored this replica of Zheng He's boat, it was gargantuan and the surrounding ships were supposed to be part of the convoy. That was simply stunning! A few hundred ships on a trip...how awfully majestic.

Our little dreamy xun who would look the part of a rich man's daughter, who would have gone overseas to study, in the 1940s.

Not forgetting the ah siak gian...hmmm how did one spell that? You know, the wastrel prodigal son.

Finally, we reached the aquarium. We had gone to the Underwater World in Sentosa and that was rather tiny and pathetic compared to this gorgeous aquarium.

The set-up was impressive. They showcased different habitats and took pains to have interesting set-ups to impress the people. Over here, they actually put in a sunken ship...

Treasures on the sea bed!

The divers were very amiable and waved to us while on their jobs.

Ooo did you see that gigantic ray?

Another interesting exhibit. There was a christmas tree in the sea!

And a hyper enthusiastic Santa Claus who was waving animatedly...

We saw starfishes...they were rather cute...

Giant crabs....oooo...made me think of seafood, alas...

Always loved the jellyfish exhibits...and made me recall a joke whereby a tour guide called them water mothers, a direct translation from Chinese...ha...

And the impressive state-of-the-art humongous display...they used really good glass which made one feel like we could step right into the water...it was most peculiar, but one had a slight dizzy feeling when one looked at the bottom of the glass...like when one put on glasses with higher degree for myopia...but it was a great experience...like you really came up close and personal with the marine creatures...

We took the tunnel...you recalled we took an automatic one at Underwater World and questioned why this was not moving...you were constantly asking WHY nowadays...I told papa someday I would be so frustrated at having to answer 100000 WHY questions in a day and I would resort to, "Because I SAY SO!" ha.

Met Uncle KC who tried his best to help us take a family photo..eh...the two of you were not too cooperative...

Ooo, a lazy shark..

Our turn to help uncle KC and his gf take a photo...and strangely enough, both of you insisted on joining them...

Oooo...out of the aquarium and you spotted the ice cream parlour...

 Gonna have lunch now.

Recently, papa had been reiterating to tong tong that mama could not carry him when we went out. Tong had to either walk or be carried by papa. ha...the stubborn tong would always insist on walking and holding mama's hand. But when he got really tired, he would snuggle in papa's arms...and papa had grown to like her more nowadays as he was more pleasant company. Tong would still go into hysterics once in a while...but he could understand and express himself better and was more teachable...haha..papa said he got big shoes to fill since his jie jie was an angel...oh well...i thought we gave him too little credit. He was a very lovable and cuddly boy...he behaved really well for his age...

Oooo lunch at Din Tai Feng...

Caught a show before we went back. The screen would appear on the ship and the pi xiu head would roar and move. Tong was rather startled by it but he somehow was attracted to it too. Perhaps like our fatalistic attraction to horror movies? We saw the pi xiu today at Gardens and he shouted "ROAR" and then "lion go orrr orrr"...hahaha..

Tong was speaking in full sentences, like, "mama, come with me", "mama, help me", "bird go home"...yeh it would be fun when he started talking...i could imagine the thrill you would have with a talking brother...hahaa...

Phew...several posts at one go...I wondered if we ever would read all these posts...maybe...maybe one day when mama is aged and wants to reminisce...well..it is always good to preserve memories...if anything, I wish the two of you will remember you have a happy childhood and you have parents who love you...and a God who never leaves you nor forsakes you...even when you do naughty things, especially when you do nothing things.

muakz...sweet dreams, Jesus' babies.
